The day of fishing was with live shrimps called moebi. They are just deadly and you can catch just about anything when using these little guys. Father in law was getting hit after hit from the fugu and I was getting my fair share of seigo (baby suzuki) and fuku. (juvenile suzuki) Eventually he got his first suzuki and things were heating up by 9am.

In total we got about 20 junior suzuki and lots of fugu. Biggest one was 45cm or so.

The next report is with a group that I'm a member of. The group is called the RMC and they are members of the the Hayato Maru boat taxi. It's pretty cool actually being a member of this group. Basically top prize is 30,000 yen, second is 15,000 yen and so on. There are always some other prizes at the end too. One thing that is really something to strive for... any chinu over 50cm nets you 100,000 yen and top fish of the year is a whopping 300,000 yen. Now that's some really good coin!

Anyways last Sunday the 1st was the first one of the year. There were about 30 anglers who participated including I.

Morning tipoff

Fishing was tough and only 4 were caught between us. I was getting fugu on my crabs but that was about it. Most of the fish came of mussels about 4cm across with the hook embedded into the side area.

The next big tournament will be the love meita this June 15th, should be around 200 anglers in this one.
