I met a big guy like me in our local fishing store and was impressed because this guy could speak really good English. It turns out he's a crazy seabasser who has a few boats under his belt. One is for charters while the other smaller boat is for pleasure seabass hunting. I was invited to join him on a nice warm Thursday night, just before my class started at 7:40pm. How funny is this, I brought all my teaching clothes and was able to fish from 2:30 till 6:30, rush to work, get changed, make a lesson plan and have enough time to chug back a coffee too!

Anyways this was a great warm up for this weekends 9th Annual Hakata Bay Seabass Tournament. I was able to test out my new reel and see how it would cast with a short boat rod. It went well, in 3 hours I was able to get 2 nice seabass on. The reel was great with it's super smooth drag and it felt awesome. Here are some pics from the night out!

First one of the day

What a sunset

Max had some big hits but missed them, this was the best one he got!!

Got this one when we just about to head back home...the clear white Range VIBE was absolutely ehaled down it's throat

Thanks for taking me out MAX and look forward to fishing with you again this November.... He has told me he has some nice Spring Spawning spots just behind Shikonoshima so I can't wait to go!
